He went from a starting weight of 195 pounds to 225 pounds in four weeks, competing at 205 pounds. He competed in the NPC South Carolina in 2007 and won the super heavyweight division.
He was a top open-division bodybuilder on several occasions, with 8 Pro wins and top 5 finishes in major competitions.
He earned his Pro card in 2009 and was in conversation with the best open bodybuilders in the world. In 2017, he won the Arnold Classic Ohio, where he met and received praise from Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former Mr. Olympia.
